Olive Oil and Montes de Málaga Tour

Become an olive oil expert! Andalusia is the region with the most olive trees in Spain and the world’s largest producer of olive oil, so if you love olive oil and want to find out more, this is the tour for you.

We’ll start by visiting a century-old olive grove, where you’ll learn about the traditional techniques and tools used to harvest olives.

Next, we’ll visit the Periana olive oil co-operative, the most important in the entire Axarquía region. Before lunch, we’ll enjoy an olive oil tasting.

Lunch will be at a restaurant with spectacular views of the Montes de Málaga. After lunch, we’ll visit two beautiful villages surrounded by olive trees, Alfarnate and Alfarnatejo, situated in the ‘Pyrenees of the Axarquía’, whose landscape contrasts completely with what we’re used to on the coast.

• Guided tour of an Andalusian farmhouse with its own olive press and tasting.
• Set-menu lunch + 1 drink at a local restaurant with stunning views of the Montes de Málaga (please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements).
• Guided tour of Alfarnate and Alfarnatejo.

• Customers must show a copy of their voucher to the guide at the start of the excursion. The voucher serves as proof of payment. 

Recommendations

• It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. 
• If you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend that you take an anti-motion sickness pill beforehand. 
• It is recommended to bring a bottle of water. 
• If the visit is during the hot months, it is recommended to use sunscreen.
