Activity description

The visit to the municipality of Riotinto is due to its famous mines and the Río Tinto, known for the characteristic reddish color of its waters. Located in southern Spain, in the province of Huelva, it owes its fame to the weathering of minerals. It is with your visit and the discovery of this peculiar landscape that this tour begins.

Subsequently, the route continues with a visit to the biosphere reserve Dehesas de Sierra Morena. An enclave composed, among other things, by mountain villages, spaces where the wild bull and the Iberian pig live in freedom. After appreciating this wonderful rural and natural environment, visitors will reach the town of Aracena.

Once there, the guide will accompany them to visit its splendid medieval castle and Gruta de las Maravillas, a cave whose geological formations leave no one indifferent. In addition to these key points, the visit to the province of Huelva is completed with the discovery of the magical rock of Arias Montano.

An opportunity to explore the Mediterranean forest and other corners of the mountains as the mosque of Almonaster la Real, the oldest in Spain.

We will have lunch at midday in one of these towns to enjoy the typical gastronomy and its star dish: Iberian ham, the most famous product of the Dehesa de Huelva.
