Visit some of the most famous tourist attractions of Gran Canaria Island!
We will depart from the Santa Cruz dock by ferry to Puerto de las Nieves (Agaete) in Gran Canaria.
Our first stop will be Arehucas Distilleries where we will learn the secret of the uniqueness of their rums, a journey through history, tradition and the good work of Arehucas. In addition, we will explain the process of making rum: the visit will allow you to tour one of the oldest rum cellars in Europe, consisting of 4,308 American oak barrels (about 300 signed by famous people). And a tasting of rums and liqueurs, to end on a high note!
Next we will head to the Poema del Mar aquarium, located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This theme park, located on the grounds of the Puerto de la Luz y de Las Palmas and inaugurated on December 17, 2017, presents the majesty of nature in three incomparable environments: jungle, beach reef and deep ocean. Within its facilities, around 12,500 square meters, 35 marine and river ecosystems from all over the planet are concentrated. It pays tribute with its name and architectural lines to the Canary Island artist Néstor de la Torre, who stood out in the avant-garde of the early twentieth century, and his pictorial work "Poemas del Atlántico" (Poems of the Atlantic), has been the inspiration for the name of the aquarium. It has the largest curved glass in the world (a methacrylate weighing 140 tons, 36 meters long and seven meters high) exhibiting some 350 species from 35 ecosystems, in enclosures where you can observe from sharks, piranhas, freshwater rays and eyeless fish, to crocodiles and sea dragons.
After this visit, transfer to the downtown area for a guided tour of the historic center of Vegueta and return to Puerto de las Nieves (Agaete) for departure to Tenerife.
