Are you a true cheese lover? If so, join us for a wonderful experience in Alhama de Granada, where we’ll visit a traditional cheese dairy and also enjoy a guided tour of this charming town.
Our day trip will start at 9.30 am; you will meet your guide and we’ll head to Alhama de Granada, a beautiful town known not only for its famous baths, thermal springs and historic monuments, but also for its cheese production.
We’ll head inland, taking in the stunning views of the Sierra de Tejeda and the olive groves.
Once at our destination, we’ll visit a goat’s cheese dairy. We’ll see where the goats live and how they’re fed with locally grown cereals, then we’ll visit the dairy and witness the entire process of making these artisan cheeses: from milking the goats to the curd setting and turning into cheese.
At the end of the visit, we’ll sample several of these incredible artisan cheeses and you’ll have the chance to buy some.
After this extraordinary experience, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of Alhama de Granada, which is designated a historic-artistic site and is a town that played an important role in Andalusia’s past.
Afterwards, we’ll have some free time to explore the town on our own and visit a traditional bar to sample the local cuisine.
We also offer you the chance to go for a walk with a goatherd and his goats in the afternoon, in a nearby village.
