Muscat raisins from the Axarquía are characterised by their large size and intense sweetness. On this tour, you’ll venture deep into the Axarquía and discover the secrets of this delicacy first-hand.
Our first stop will be a traditional wine press surrounded by vineyards, where we’ll explain how the different native grape varieties are grown. You’ll learn about the lives of the families who specialise in producing Muscat raisins and you’ll even be able to see the grapes hanging in the traditional drying sheds. You’ll also have the chance to sample a few raisins, to appreciate just how labour-intensive this age-old craft is.
Next, we’ll visit El Borge, right in the heart of the raisin route. We’ll explore its pretty streets and see the many references to this crop, which is the town’s main source of income.
Our next stop will be Almáchar, the capital of Muscat raisins and the highlight of our tour. We’ll explore its lovely streets and visit the Raisin Museum, where we’ll learn more about the product and see the traditional tools once used to harvest and prepare the grapes.
Finally, we’ll visit Moclinejo, a small, unassuming village surrounded by mountains that you’re sure to fall in love with. In this beautiful village, we’ll have lunch at one of the best restaurants in the area.

Customers must show a copy of their voucher to the guide at the start of the tour. The voucher serves as proof of payment.
Recommendations
Once the reservation has been paid and confirmed, cancellation of the activity between 72 and 24 hours prior to the start of the activity will incur a cost of 50% of the total amount.
A cancellation 24 hours before the start of the activity or no show will result in a 100% non-refundable fee.
In case of booking one of our activities privately, the reservation will be confirmed upon payment of a non-refundable 30% deposit. One week before the tour, the remaining non-refundable 70% must be paid.
